Private Art Collection
The Home Museum displays Pullinen’s private art collection, which includes works by artists such as Jaakko Sievänen and Salvador Dalí. Pullinen and Sievänen were founding members of the artist group Maaliskuulaiset, and the collection features works by nearly all artists associated with the group, including Kain Tapper, Ulla Rantanen, Esko Tirronen, and Mauri Favén. The collection also includes works by several of Pullinen’s contemporaries: Lars-Gunnar Nordström, Sam Vanni, Erik Enroth, Tuulikki Pietilä, Urpu Ilasmaa, Kuutti Lavonen, Tero Laaksonen, and Totte Mannes.
The collection extends to prominent Spanish printmakers and academicians such as José Luis Sanchez, Amadeo Gabino, and Rafael Canogar. It also contains design glass and other objects by close friends, including Tapio Wirkkala, Timo Sarpaneva, and Nanny Still. The collection is particularly notable because most of the works were given directly by the artists themselves. Rather than actively assembling the collection, Pullinen received the works through collaboration, friendship, and artistic exchange. The collection also includes a substantial selection of Finnish medal art.
